San Francisco-Hot music and hot moves filled San Francisco City Hall as hundreds gathered for the kickoff of Carnaval 2011 last Friday!

The
 crowd was composed of the young and old and all the colors of the 
rainbow, as Mayor Ed Lee expressed his thrill at being the first Asian 
American Mayor to welcome the everyone to take part in the signature San
 Francisco event that brings people from around the world to visit San 
Francisco.
 
 
 
With
 the announcement of native son, activist and actor, Danny Glover as 
Grand Marshal,Carnaval 2011 added yet another layer fun, flare and 
inclusion

 San Francisco Native Sons Jacquie Taliaferro & Danny Glover @Cannes International Film Festival.

to San Francisco's multicultural two-day fun-filled event.  "As a filmmaker and new member
 of SFCAT, it is indeed an honor for me to be on the board the year 
Danny Glover is named Grand Marshal," said Jacquie Taliaferro of LaHitz 
Media. "Danny and I have worked together during the Cannes International Film Festival
 in France on several occasions and it's great to be involved in a 
project together where we both grew up.  It's a great homecoming in our 
wonderful multicultural City."
 
Speaking of homecoming, veteran San Francisco actor, Shabaka Henley winner of the NAACP Image Award, will also be in town for

Stella Got Her Groove Back, Miami Vice, also produced and acted in the

 Carnaval participant and former King of Carnaval, Theo Williams, keeps 
the spirit of Carnaval alive throughout the year with his SambaFunk

 Williams is known for throwing the hottest Carnaval After-parties 
around. Stars Danny Glover and Shabaka Henley are slated to be in the 
house as Theo "Maestro of the Carnaval Funk" gets the crowd grooving.
