From the Office of Thomas Simpson & Afro Solo "Black History Month Celebrations"
February 25, 2017

From Thomas Simpson, Executive Director

AFROSOLO THEATRE COMPANY

 I hope you’ve having a great
Black History Season!

I had the pleasure of being the keynote speaker for San Francisco's Kwanzaa Kujichagulia (self-determination) principle on the second day of the celebration. I was honored, inspired and uplifted by the experience.

I participated in San Francisco Unified School District's African American Read In, where community members go into schools and read books related to the African American experience.  I was also grateful to perform my signature work, There Is No Hatred Here for a number of youth programs and a Social Justice program housed in SF’s Presbyterian Church on Franklin Street. In addition, I marched in the MLK Parade and attended a number of events and amazing performances.
