As we reach the end of 2021, please consider donating to support LHT. This year and every year, we worked towards our mission of creating theatrical works by, for, and about the Black experience; presenting plays by African American and multicultural playwrights; and providing employment and career building opportunities for actors, directors, designers, and technicians from the African American and multicultural communities.

We are fighting for representation of BIPOC theatre makers on and offstage. However, transforming the systemic racism of the American theatre demands financial investment. It is crucial to pledge resources in order to amplify the works of talented artists of color and to ensure that diverse, essential stories take center stage.

In 2022, we will continue to raise funds to support The Lorraine Hansberry Theatre Fund for New Black Voices. This initiative brings together emerging Black Female, nonbinary, and Fem-identifying Playwrights with established Black Female, nonbinary, and Fem-identifying Playwrights for a year-long mentorship, which will culminate in new plays that LHT will produce and premiere in upcoming seasons.
