Although canceled, "An Evening with Garrison Keillor" will still benefit Lutheran Social Services, if ticket holders and the public would donate the price of a ticket to the organization. The benefit was scheduled for September 22 at the Sacramento Convention Center, but was canceled just a week before due to Keillor's health concerns. Organizers are asking the public to make a tax-deductible gift of $35 to $70, the ticket price, in honor of Keillor who is so strongly committed to helping the homeless programs that he tried to defy his doctors. People are encouraged to donate on line at www.lssnorcal.org
