Mayor London N. Breed today participated in the ceremonial groundbreaking of 131 affordable homes at Balboa Park Upper Yard (BPUY). The site is one of two new 100% affordable housing developments getting underway in District 11, and will feature a revamped Balboa Park BART station plaza as part of the total design. Once completed in 2023, the transit-oriented development will feature a number of community benefits, including a licensed early childhood education center with an outdoor activity area and family resource center.

Mayor London N. Breed Tuesday announced the launch of the Stand Together campaign to denounce and combat discrimination in San Francisco. The campaign, organized by the San Francisco Human Rights Commission and community leaders, began Tuesday with a Town Hall about anti-Asian discrimination.

Mayor London N. Breed announced Thursday expanded COVID-related support for the Latino community, which has been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. This new support comes after working with the community, particularly the Latino Parity and Equity Coalition, which has been advocating for more resources for the Latino community. This $28.5 million commitment will begin with an initial funding of $22.5 million to support the Latino community that will come through a variety of solutions, with focuses on health, housing, food access, workforce, and small businesses.
