LaHitz@Cannes Calls Celebrities to "Help Mama Africa Save Her Children" Fundraisers slated to raise funds at Cannes for a Senegal Hospital's Children's Cancer Unit.
San Francisco- LaHitz Media is calling all Stars and everyone with a willing heart to help raise funds for Dr. Claude Moreira's work
at Dakar, Senegal's Le Dantec Hospital. Dr. Moreira's work is dramatic
and instrumental in saving the lives of children who would otherwise
have no access to life-saving treatment. The LaHitz@Cannes Film Series
held annually during the Cannes International Film Festival features
films for, about, and by the African Diaspora and people of color.
This year during the 62nd Cannes International Film Festival, LaHitz
has joined with Baobab Motion and Afric' Elance to include a fashion
show charity gala and concert to raise funds for the Dr. Moreira's work.
"I can't think of a better place to display to the world the African
Diaspora's solidarity than the Cannes International Film Festival,"
"As we are beginning to hear from various celebrities that are clearing
their calendars to join this effort, it is a dream come true. I can't
wait to see to the Stars wearing my designs which will be used to raise
the much needed money to save the lives of Mama Africa's children, said
French Senegalese designer, Angele De Medeiros.

Senegalese fashion designer, Angele de Medeiros, stands with children
and next to Dr. Claude Moreira, who is the premiere physician handling
cancer cases at Le Dantec Hospital. Moreira faces the daunting
realities of limited medication and many people's belief that cancer is
incurable. Nearly 70 percent of the children that are treated live to
tell their victorious story.
"Help Mama Africa" campaign gives a whole new slant to the saying "Talk to the Hand."
Los Manos, the Hands, are now talking back asking the world to save the children with the "Help Mama Africa" campaign. How hip is that?
Antonia Tiendrébéogo gives the sign of a helping hand.
As a French African, with my own company and working with the number
one French news channel, the CNN of France, it warms my heart to see
celebrities begin to join this effort," said Becaye Kanoute. "We're
asking the stars and everyone
to write on their hands "Help Mama Africa" to show their solidarity.
We have a special website www.helpmama-africa.com where they will be
able to upload their photos or link videos of their salute to Mama Africa and the work of Dr. Moreira."
"We will be pleased to have celebrities and 'everyday stars' (those
bringing light and helping their neighbors) join LaHitz, Baobab Motion,
Afric' Elance and the hundreds of volunteers and organizations that
will be assisting with the "Help Save Mama Africa's Children"
fundraisers," said Jacquie Taliaferro, Director of LaHitz Media.
"We
want to save every child and this project is the beginning of a bright
future for as many as we can save," added Jacquie Taliaferro. "And most
of all it demonstrates cross cultural and multicultural partnership
that began with the African Diaspora. We salute the work of Oprah Winfrey, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Jamie Foxx, George Clooney, Denzel Washington, Will and Jada Smith and others and we look forward to joining forces to help save more lives!"
