President Obama Comments on Peace Prize

Congratulations President Barack Obama!

Congratulations America! Congratulations Nobel Peace Prize Committee!  Congratulations World!

President Barack Obama will receive the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize!  What great news to wake up to, America!  Will America wake up?  Will America recognize the gift they have been given in President Obama and will American realize the gifts in themselves?

Before President Obama humbly commented on his being named as this year's Nobel Peace Prize winner, many corporate media went beserk on Barack, giving opinion as news that he was not worthy to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.   The Norwegian Nobel Committee saw it differently and cited "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples" (I would interject starting with his own people to move beyond race and to get to basic human rights to a healthy life for all).   The third sitting president to win the Nobel Peace Prize, the committee cited President Obama for his outreach to the Muslim world and attempts to curb nuclear proliferation.

As a citizen of the world, I add to the committee's citation the intangible tangible, dreams.  President Obama sends the message that we can dream again and from dreams flow real solutions that move people forward.  He is actualizing words of Robert Kennedy, "Some men see things as they are and say why. I dream things that never were and say why not."

Corporate media gave opinion as news as it criticized President Obama for not bringing home the Olympics to Chicago.  Can you imagine downing someone who has faith to face the impossible (since Chicago did not make that final cut).   And out of the blue, within weeks he receives the Nobel Peace Prize, not knowing he was nominated.   Class can you repeat, "Look at God, Ya'll."  I guess not. God was taken out of the classroom a long time ago.  It doesn't seem to bother Him; but we are bothered as we see what are schools are like when "Thou shalt not kill" can't be seen or heard.  And we wonder why we have violence in our schools and neighborhoods.

Congratulations President Obama!
