Although the 44th President of the United States is the first president of African descent, vestiges of racism and equality still remain in the U.S. "Soundtrack for A Revolution" pays homage to the Civil Rights Era and the multicultural sacrifice of people in the United States to achieve freedom and justice. It is a befitting film to assist the on-going work of the NAACP through this fundraiser on the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The event, conceived by filmmaker and NAACP Communications Director Jacquie Taliaferro, celebrates the past and gives recognition to the work of all that participated in the film as it is a contender to become among the five documentaries to be honored at the Academy Awards March 7, 2010.
