Fluent in French and good hospitality, the President of La Jolie Noire Media and Founding Partner of Black Paris Divas  www.blackparisdivas.com , Bates now has a budding actress on her hands. Bates sees time wizzing by as her young ingenue steps into her own.  Her daughter will be playing the part of "Antie 'Em" in the Wiz for City Arts and Technology School in San Francisco.  Diana Ross, Lena Horne, with all due respect, "move over, please" for Miss Bates.

Breed joined State Senator Scott Wiener to announce legislation to combat fencing, the sale of stolen goods on City streets. Authored by Senator Wiener and sponsored by Mayor Breed, Senate Bill 925 (SB 925) would allow San Francisco to create permitting requirements to regulate the sale of items commonly obtained through retail theft and impose criminal penalties for those who engage in this practice.
