EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH COMMUNITY MEETING IN THE RICHMOND DISTRICT, APRIL 21ST 

Friends of Mountain Lake Park and the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services have organized a community meeting to discuss community policing efforts and emergency preparedness.  On April 21st, Captain Correira from the SFPD Richmond District Station, along with Irina Chatsova, SFSAFE's Public Safety Coordinator, and Lt. Erica Arteseros, from the Neighborhood Emergency Response Team (NERT) will have a discussion with Richmond District residents regarding crime prevention strategies and neighborhood emergency preparedness.

LAGUNA HONDA HOSPITAL AND REHABILITATION CENTER'S COMMUNITY TOWN HALL MEETINGS 

Laguna Honda Hospital will be holding 6 upcoming community town hall meetings located in the Residents' Library in the hospital. 

Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 8:00am, 1:30pm, & 9:00pm

Wednesday May 12, 2010 at 8:00am, 1:30pm, and 9:00pm

LAST MCLAREN PARK COMMUNITY WORKSHOP ON MAY 19TH

The Recreation and Parks Department working with Neighborhood Parks Council and Parks Trust will hold the last workshop to discuss the improvement needs at McLaren Park.  The workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 19th from 6:30pm-8:00pm located at Louis Sutter Playground Roundhouse.

MAYORAL NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

To-date, almost 5,000 solar panels have been installed on the Sunset Reservoir's North Basin. The project has generated approximately 24 jobs and by project completion; it will have created a total of 53. Once finished in December, 2010, the Sunset Reservoir Solar Installation will deliver clean, 100% renewable energy to the San Francisco electrical grid and reduce carbon emissions by approximately 80,000 metric tons over the 25-year lifetime of the project.

MAYOR NEWSOM AND PRESIDENT CHIU INTRODUCE $27 BILLION TEN-YEAR CAPITAL PLAN

The Plan recommends $26.9 billion in total capital investments ranging from road resurfacing to the rebuild of San Francisco General Hospital to maintenance, repairs and seismic retrofits of our schools, parks, and public safety buildings. The investment is expected to create an average of 19,000 new construction-related jobs in San Francisco per year.
