MEDIA CALL TO ACTION: BE THE FOURTH ESTATE
FOLLOW UP ON WELLS FARGO FORECLOSURES

SAN FRANCISCO-
Can media make a difference?  Will media help to shine the light on bank foreclosures and the stories of those who are fighting against billion dollar odds to have their homes saved from the hands of "money changers"?

The Internet is rife with stories of banks unfair practices.  Wells Fargo is culpable in the case of money laundering, and statistics bear up the anecdotal stories of people being foreclosed on by Wells Fargo while in the middle of home modifications or short sales.  Homeowners that are going to the courts demanding "forensics" examination of their loans are now finding that banks are paying off the forensics experts to thwart homeowners' efforts.

Media are being asked to make a difference by following up on the case of Allen Stowers, an African American small business man, who has fought off predatory lenders and predatory buyers (often found at the steps of San Francisco City Hall ready to buy foreclosed home with the interest of turning a buck without consideration of the people involved).

Stowers has taken his case to the President, Chairman, and CEO of Wells Fargo Bank.  He is asking bank officials to give him sufficient time to pay them back by turning his home into use for social services.  He is negotiating for time to make his home a group home for foster care, emancipated youth or veterans.  The income from the social services home will pay for the mortgage.

With the Stowers' case with others following, Wells Fargo Bank that was bailed out by taxpayers has an opportunity to be a model of a caring bank that can receive its necessary profits and help people in the process.

Media can play its vigilant "Fourth Estate " role by calling Wells Fargo Bank and inquiring about the Stowers case.  Call John G. Stumpf's at 415 396 4000 for an interview. His office is based in Texas: 4101 Wiseman BL VD BLDG 205, T7419-022 FL 02, San Antonio, TX 78251; phone number 210 543-5558.

Mr. Stowers can be reached at 415 821.1111.
