Congratulations, David Roach, Executive Director of the Oakland International Film Festival and his fabulous team of volunteers.  It's another great year of bringing films from around the world to Oakland.

Film Festival is here!

Greetings!

Greetings Friends/ Filmmakers!

Thursday, April 7th  at 12:00-3:00 p.m. at the Claremont Hotel Club and Spa, The Oakland Film Society is hosting a "Thinking International/Meet the Filmmaker" Press Conference. 

Invited guests include: representatives from the Oakland International Airport, The Oakland Museum, and several filmmakers featured in years OIFF9.

Our vision is to connect Oakland filmmakers to the global film industry.

Our strategy is to network filmmakers at this years Oakland Film Market at the Claremont Hotel Club and Spa ( we call the Film House), April 8th and 9th - 10:00 - 5:00 p.m.

During the Oakland Film Market, a number of panelist consisting of directors, producers, crew, distribution companies, will share their background and where the filmmaking industry is going. Pay passes for each day are just $50.00. 

The 9th Oakland International Film Festival screenings run from April 7th -15th at The Art Deco Auditorium, The Grand Lake Theater and other  venues in the East Bay. 

The Opening night films are held at the Grand Lake Theater beginning at 6:00 p.m-8:15 p.m. Followed by another set of films from 9:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Four films will screen during the first session opening night: Mine - Story of Sacred Mountain, Sick Wid It, The Emergence of Urban Communities and So Right So Smart.  Along with the films, meet the filmmakers that make them!  Tickets: $10.00

 

The above films will be followed by: Daisy Cutter, Le Jeu des Soldats, The Hush,  and un novio de mierdo

OFFICIAL OIFF9 AFTER PARTY AT THE WASHINGTON INN
On April 8th at the Washington Inn Hotel enjoy four films, Native Time, El Premio, Method, and Oakland B-Mine, followed by live performances of rising Oakland musicians, followed by DJ.  You can purchase tickets for just the screening or join us for the after party festivities in the Old Oakland part of town. This event is presented in partnership with zon26.com.
