Bay Area Breakout Artist fLO to Appear at Carnaval Festival

 & San Francisco Black Film Festival

 

New artist fLO takes the stage of Carnaval this Saturday

joining the ranks of Hollywood Star Shabaka Henley  

at San Francisco 2-day Carnaval Celebration.

  

WHO: Emerging artist fLO, seasoned and pioneering Actor Barry Shabaka Henley, thousands of revelers at the 33rd Annual Carnaval Festival and Grand Parade- "Live Your Fantasy."

 

WHAT:  Before her debut album The Exhibition June 1 with much awaited single "DNA" and her appearance on BET's 106 and Park, fLO will be rocking the stage at Carnaval.  Interesting to note that both fLO and Hollywood Star Barry Shabaka Henley of "Miami Vice, Collateral, Crash, How Stella Got Her Groove Back" fame will participate in Carnaval.  Two weeks later they will be at the San Francisco Black Film Festival (Both will walk the SFBFF Red Carpet.  Barry Shabaka Henley will be at the screening of "90404 Changing," a film produced with his Paulina Sahagun, who is Latina.  The film addresses the changing dynamics of Santa Monica and Black and Latino relationships.) fLO will perform opening night at the SFBFF.

 

While Henley will be on a float Sunday with the former Carnaval King Theo Williams and his Caribelinq contingent, fLO will perform on stage Saturday.    (Danny Glover scheduled to be this year's Grand Marshal may not be joining the Carnaval Grand Parade due to a last minute schedule change in filming in Brazil.  The Distinguished Dr. Ana Mara Polo of the renowned Telemundo Show "Caso Cerrado" is Grand Marshal as listed on the SFCAT website.

 

WHEN:  Saturday, May 28, 12:10-12:30 fLO entertains; Grand Parade with Barry Shabaka Henley takes place on Sunday, May 29.  

 

WHERE:  17th Street Stage-fLO Entertains, San Francisco (Saturday). Grand Parade begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Corner of 24th and Bryant Streets (Sunday).
