AT&T/T-Mobile Merger- Norcal Public Hearing on July 7th

The PUC hearing is proceding this month with a public participation workshop in San Francisco on Thursday July 7th at 6:00pm at 505 Van Ness Avenue. Big Victory for Save KUSF

Against all odds, the scrappy community fighting to save the venerable SF college radio station, received word yesterday the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has called for further review of the license transfer, requesting additional documentation from the buyer, Classical Public Radio Network LLC.

Gar Smith, a founding member of MA and Editor Emeritus of Earth Island Journal, has recently published "Nuclear Roulette", the 5th in the International Forum on Globalization's series of "False Solutions" reports The 94-page report skewers the major pro-nuclear arguments of the atomic lobby (nukes are not "safe and green") and provides conclusive evidence that renewable energy technologies are already out-performing nuclear reactors. Hard copies are available for $16 plus $3 postage.

Breed joined State Senator Scott Wiener to announce legislation to combat fencing, the sale of stolen goods on City streets. Authored by Senator Wiener and sponsored by Mayor Breed, Senate Bill 925 (SB 925) would allow San Francisco to create permitting requirements to regulate the sale of items commonly obtained through retail theft and impose criminal penalties for those who engage in this practice.
