October 14, 2011

We can hardly wait to see you and share our great new home!  Broadway has nothing on us!  Don't be left out and please spread the word to your friends.

Lorraine Hansberry Theatre (LHT) http://www.lhtsf.org opens its 31st season --in a brand new home at 450 Post Street, the heart of San Francisco's Union Square District-- with two one-act plays: Almost Nothing, mysterious and unnerving by Brazilian playwright, Marcos Barbosa. After intermission is Douglas Turner Ward's clever satire, Day of Absence.

Opening night, Fri., Oct. 14, the legendary Ward will be in attendance, fêted before the play at a pre-show cocktail hour and dinner.  He will also attend a post-show VIP reception. Ward, known and regaled by many to be the remaining icon within the pioneering African American theatre giants, bolstered the careers of acclaimed thespians: Denzel Washington, Danny Glover, Phylicia Rashad and numerous others.  A list of celebrities is invited to join in the salute.
