UCSF Offers Free Medical Screenings

UCSF OFFERS FREE MEDICAL SCREENINGS AND SEMINAR ON CLINICAL RESEARCH

WHAT: UCSF will celebrate "Clinical Research Education Day'' as the host of Aware for All - San Francisco, a free health education program that is open to the public and designed to help people make informed decisions about participating in clinical research. The program will feature workshops on various health topics, including asthma, cancer treatment, supportive care, HIV/AIDS, cardiology, diabetes, and the role of minorities in clinical research. Also, there will be more than 30 information booths, as well as free screenings for blood pressure, asthma, body mass index, blood glucose and HIV.  

WHEN: Saturday, November 5, 2011, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

WHERE: The Center, 1800 Market Street, San Francisco CA 94102

WHO: Sponsored by the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) at UCSF, Aware for All - San Francisco is a collaborative effort of the UCSF Participant Research Service and the Center for Information & Study on Clinical Research Participation (CISCRP). Additional community partners include Stanford Hospital & Clinics, Stanford Cancer Center, Palo Alto Medical Foundation, Biogen IDEC, and EMD Serono.
