Glasspockets: Open a Window on California Philanthropy

Glasspockets: Open a Window on California Philanthropy Social media tools like Twitter give all of us access to the important messages of institutional philanthropists, increasing the transparency of philanthropy news and trends. Scholarships for Full-Day Seminars

Scholarships for Full-Day Seminars Scholarships are now available for under-resourced nonprofits in California to attend the Foundation Center's training courses. This initiative is generously supported by contributions from Pacific Gas and Electric Company. These scholarships are designed to assist small, community-based nonprofit organizations to build their internal capacity in preparation for seeking financial support from foundations, corporations, or other institutional grantmakers. Breed joined State Senator Scott Wiener to announce legislation to combat fencing, the sale of stolen goods on City streets. Authored by Senator Wiener and sponsored by Mayor Breed, Senate Bill 925 (SB 925) would allow San Francisco to create permitting requirements to regulate the sale of items commonly obtained through retail theft and impose criminal penalties for those who engage in this practice.
