SF 100 Black Women in San Francisco Multicultural Weekend Kickoff at Lorraine Hansberry Theatre

Join the San Francisco 100 Black Women in San Francisco Weekend at the Lorraine Hansberry Theatre for Blue/Orange with TV, Film & Stage Celebrity Carl Lumbly, Friday, March 2nd. No Host Bar 7:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. performance. 450 Post Street @Powell (Powell Street BART is convenient as well as garages around Union Square).

Blue/Orange is a sophisticated psychodrama set in a London Psychiatric Hospital written by British Joe Penhall and directed by Edris Cooper-Anifowoshe. Lumbly's co-stars are JulianLopez-Morillas and Dan Clegg.

March is Women's History Month, and Blue/Orange has an all male cast and is directed by a woman, Edris Cooper-Anifowoshe. Visit www.lhtsf.org for details of the show.

Saturday, March 3, It's the SF 100 Black Women in San Francisco "Golden Girls Hats & Gloves Tea" at the Fairmont with First Black City Administrator Naomi Kelly as Keynote speaker and San Francisco Mayor Edwin Lee in attendance. SF NCBW pays tributes to The Honorable Teresa Cox, The Honorable Malia Cohen, Karen Lewis, Cassie Cook, Gloria M. Jackson, MD, Dr. Kimberly Mayfield Lynch and Leona Bridges. The Tuskegee Airmen will receive their annual recognition from the SF NBCW.

are confirmed guests of the Honorable Teresa Cox who is among the honorees at the 7th Annual "Bridging the Generations" Golden Girls Hats & Gloves Tea during the National Coalition of 100 Black Women in San Francisco Multicultural Weekend.

The 7th Annual "Bridging the Generations" Golden Girls Hats & Gloves Tea brings commerce to San Francisco and it is a platform for awareness of the San Francisco NBCW's "Bridging the Generations" Employment and Job Training Program conceived by 2011 Tea Chair, Jackie Wright and it's the launch of a $150,000 Academy of Art University education partnership.

Sunday, March 4, It's Free! The San Francisco 100 Black Women in San Francisco Multicultural Weekend concludes with worship celebration at the 160th Anniversary of Bethel A.M.E. Church, 916 Laguna St. with the Reverend J. Edgar Boyd and his historic congregation. Bethel A.M.E. Church is the oldest Black Church in San Francisco and was organized just two years after the City of San Francisco was incorporated. No fee. We suggest those joining the occasion will give or send a gift that is a true tribute to this historic event.

The San Francisco 100 Black Women in San Francisco Weekend is open to all. It's a great opportunity for positive cultural exchange.

The San Francisco National Coalition of 100 Black Women salutes the Lorraine Hansberry Theatre as it is a wonderful cultural entertainment icon of 31 years located now in Union Square that not only provides cultural entertainment but brings commerce to the Bay Area as well.

It is an honor for the San Francisco NCBW to join with Reverend J. Edgar Boyd and the historic congregation of Bethel A.M.E Church for its 160th Anniversary on March 4th.

Breed joined State Senator Scott Wiener to announce legislation to combat fencing, the sale of stolen goods on City streets. Authored by Senator Wiener and sponsored by Mayor Breed, Senate Bill 925 (SB 925) would allow San Francisco to create permitting requirements to regulate the sale of items commonly obtained through retail theft and impose criminal penalties for those who engage in this practice.
