Phi Beta Sigma Health & Wellness Town Hall & Expo

The Men of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Western Region are pleased to announce their 2012 Health and Wellness Expo and Town Hall Forum Thursday, March 15 at the Oakland Marriott.  Themed "Building an Inclusive Brotherhood: "Creating a Healthy Community," attendees will enjoy a variety of workshops, seminars along with testing and evaluation for the Donor's Network,  Diabetes, HIV/Aids,  Cancer, Male Self-Empowerment and Hypertension during the EXPO from 9:30am to 4:00pm.  A Town Hall Meeting panel discussion on HIV/AIDS from 5:30p to 7:30pm led by Dr. Michael Lenoir will include panelists Shelley Stinson, Program Manager, Alameda County Health Department, Office of AIDS, Tony R. Wafford, President/CEO, I Choose Life Health & Wellness Center, David B. Johnson, BA, Disparities Coordinator Division of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Prevention and Dr. Maulana Karenga, Professor of Africana Studies, SCU Long Beach & Creator of Kwaanza.  The Friday March 16 career fair will include Employment Development Department, East Bay Professional Employee Network and the Urban League - Sacramento Charter as sponsors and attendees will enjoy a variety of workshops and seminars on improving skills in the work place.

The Sigma Wellness Community Expo is a part of Sigma's International Bigger & Better Business Program - PROJECT S.E.E.D. (Sigma Economic Empowerment Development), which empowers high school and collegiate members to interact and network with minority small businesses, as well as national corporations, while raising necessary funds for education and health awareness.

 African American and minority owned business, community organizations, and corporations can showcase their products and services to conference guests travelling from thirteen states including Japan, and Korea.  The festivities also include the Dr. Alain LeRoy Locke Scholars' Luncheon co-hosted by PBSWest Foundation on Friday, March 16th at 11:00a.m.

Vendor space is still available for any or all three days for displaying and selling your merchandise. Vendors are provided a 10' x 10' space which includes a table with two chairs. Vendors can request additional tables for a minimum fee.
