The Forum: Conversations at YBCA is a new quarterly series of moderated conversations with artists, activists, and thought-leaders.

YBCA is pleased to welcome Van Jones, the globally recognized and award-winning pioneer in human rights and the clean energy economy. Named by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world, Jones has worked as the green jobs advisor to the Obama administration in 2009. He is the founding president of Rebuild the Dream, a pioneering initiative to restore good jobs and economic opportunity, as well as co-founder of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, Color of Change, and Green For All. Jones is the author of the New York Times bestsellers Rebuild the Dream and The Green Collar Economy. Jones will be joined on stage by award-winning, nationally-known journalist Farai Chideya, whose reporting has been featured in Newsweek, The New York Times, and on National Public Radio.

Authored by Senator Wiener and sponsored by Mayor Breed, Senate Bill 925 (SB 925) would allow San Francisco to create permitting requirements to regulate the sale of items commonly obtained through retail theft and impose criminal penalties for those who engage in this practice.
