CAL-PEP and 100 Black Women Collaborate to Bring
"Sistahs Getting Real About HIV/AIDS" to Oakland

NATIONAL HIV TESTING DAY
 Community Forum | Community Grill-outs | 9th Annual Billboard Campaign

 

OAKLAND, CA--California Prevention Education Project (CAL-PEP) and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc, Oakland Bay Area Chapter collaboration "Sistahs Getting Real About HIV/AIDS" will participate in National HIV Testing Day (June 27th) by offering free HIV testing and resources to motivate the African American community to get tested and learn their HIV status. Outreach activities will offer the community an opportunity to spread awareness about the importance of knowing one's HIV status. Additionally, CAL-PEP will administer free HIV tests, which require only an oral sample (no needles) that renders results within 20 minutes. The "Grill Outs" will provide are an opportunity for community building and mobilization, while advocating for HIV/AIDS awareness and testing.

9th Annual "Sistahs Getting Real About HIV/AIDS  Billboard Campaign, co-sponsored by GILEAD & CAL-PEP. The billboards serve as continuing encourage to individuals to test for HIV and know their status.

 

4 - 8 p.m. | FREE "Not the Usual Suspects" Community Forum and Networking Mixer
2811 Adeline St. Oakland, CA.  Assembling varied community entities to address HIV and testing in the African American community.
