Five Festivals, Artist in Residence Program and New KinoTek Installation Enrich the Bay Area Cinematic Arts Calendar
San Francisco, CA -- The San Francisco Film Society will present an exciting array of programs in Fall 2012,
kicking off in September with the previously announced KinoTek
installation by Brent Green and continuing with five in-depth film
series, educational events and opportunities to meet and interact with
celebrated filmmakers. KinoTek - Brent Green: To Many Men Strange Fates are Given September 15 - October 20 Steven Wolf Fine Arts Brent
Green's latest project is a sculpture of wrought iron, hacked LCD
monitors, art nouveau-inspired wooden figures and features an animated
narrative in his signature stop-motion style. Green will also
participate in an artist talk September 17 at the San Francisco Art
Instititue.
Hong Kong Cinema September 21 - 23 New People Cinema Presenting recent works from one of the world's most exciting filmmaking hubs.
Artist in Residence: Anna Boden September 25 - October 9 Acclaimed independent filmmaker Anna Boden's two-week residency features a screening of her 2008 film Sugar with a moderated Q&A, plus an artist talk and numerous visits to Bay Area high school and college classrooms.
Taiwan Film Days October 12 - 14 New People Cinema A showcase of the best contemporary Taiwanese cinema.
French Cinema Now October 24 - 30 Landmark's Embarcadero Center Cinema Significant new works of international francophone cinema.
Behind the Scenes Master Class: Sam Pollard on Editing November 2 San Francisco Film Centre, the Presidio Join the award-winning editor of Jungle Fever, 25th Hour, Bamboozled, When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts and 4 Little Girls for an in-depth discussion on the art of editing.
Cinema by the Bay November 9 - 11 New People Cinema Celebrating the passion, innovation and diversity of Bay Area filmmaking.
New Italian Cinema November 11 - 18 Landmark's Embarcadero Center Cinema Celebrating the rich cinematic tradition of Italy and its newest generation of filmmakers.

to the Bay Area, the San Francisco Film Society is a national leader in

Film Society presents 365 days of exhibition each year, reaching a
