OAKLAND, CA--For two impactful weekend days Wells Fargo Home Mortgage will join 2012 Bay Area Black Expo producers Rose Lyles and J. Alton Byrd to host a dynamic, enlightening multicultural marketplace to engage community residents and visitors from long distances.  The exposition will provide an estimated 10,000+ visitors the opportunity to take pleasure in and benefit from numerous multi-ethnic experiences including foods products, services, education, and entertainment, while showcasing and celebrating the Bay Area's diverse community during multiple free events, activities and workshops.

Kaiser Permanente will sponsor the Expo's Health and Fitness Pavilion that is comprised of booths, exhibits and presentations that include healthy cooking demonstrations by Cuisine Noir and celebrity chefs; fitness classes and exercise demonstrations by Hollywood Fitness; health screenings and massages performed by Everest College; and free vision and glaucoma exams by Prevent Blindness Northern California and Glaucoma Research Foundation, respectively.

 

Thirty-four Wells Fargo Home Mortgage consultants will meet face-to-face with prospective homebuyers to provide onsite pre-approvals to qualified buyers.

 

Unity Council Homeownership Center will be on-hand at the Expo to counsel homeowners and prospective homebuyers on foreclosure, short sale, and finance management to achieve homeownership.

 

Visitors to the 21st annual show will be entertained with celebrity "Inside the Artist Studio" interviews featuring actors Darrin Henson, Mario Van Peebles and Terri J. Vaughn; Greek fraternity/sorority step show, co-hosted by the World Famous Rick & Russ Show and actor Darrin Henson from the film "Stomp the Yard;" a powerful spirit-led Sunday gospel music celebration featuring Demetrius Tolefree, and hosted by KDYA's (The Light 1190 AM) Brotha Phil; along with special guest performers--including Martin Luther, Thai Nicole and Ric Alexander--speakers, and scores of exhibits by art & craft, retail, social, corporate, and healthcare vendors and exhibitors.

 

The 2012 Expo is expected to be the Bay Area's largest and most comprehensive multi-ethnic trade exposition/fair/festival ever. Byrd said, "While we want our visitors to be entertained and have fun, it is also our goal to educate and empower the community through workshops, training, and distributed materials that will help people gain important and beneficial information to contribute to the improvement of their respective personal, professional, and spiritual selves."
