Ambassador Andrew Young Brings Dr. King's Message
of Nonviolence to Oakland, October 20th


Barbara Lee and Elihu Harris Speakers Lecture
co-produced by Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Center & Merritt College


Oakland- On Saturday, October 20th Ambassador Andrew Young brings his tremendous insight and experience to Oakland for an unforgettable lecture,The Time is Now: Our Legacy, Our Future. The lecture begins at 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Oakland City Center Marriott,   Admission is free.  Organizers of the lecture strongly encourage reservations.  Call April Chan at 510 610 5446 to R.S.V.P.  Space is limited. Ambassador Young's lecture is the 2012-2013 kick off for the Barbara Lee & Elihu Harris Lecture Series.

Authored by Senator Wiener and sponsored by Mayor Breed, Senate Bill 925 (SB 925) would allow San Francisco to create permitting requirements to regulate the sale of items commonly obtained through retail theft and impose criminal penalties for those who engage in this practice.
