There are some
cherished moments in life that become sweeter
with just a little time.
Hey, I wasn't too
happy about going to a Giants news conference at
the time, LaHitz Sports Director, Jacquie
Taliaferro asked me to stretch a little and
cover sports. I had not covered sports
since my days at WXAG in Athens, Ga. But
as you can see from the picture there are
benefits, to playing the game sometimes. I
had a chance for a photo op with Giants pitcher
Barry Zito who is now opening pitcher for Game
One of the 2012 World Series, which starts
today. He's a gracious sportsman on and
off the field. At least that was my
experience. Godspeed Barry!
Click the photo and
see "Face Time" clip at
mlb.com of how Giants Manager
Bruch Bochy had a tough time trying to reach
Barry to let him know he's first up on the
mound. Hear from:
Barry Zito, Bruch
Bochy, Brian Wilson, Buster Posey, Brandon Belt,
Ryan Vogelsong Tim Lincecum, Hunter Pence,
and

Congratulations to Zito, who is a great
sportsman on and off the field. Much
success!

You
know as a sidebar, we could sing a few bars of
"Unforgettable"
that great Nat King Cole classic, made even
more "Unforgettable" when technology allowed
Cole's daughter, Natalie to sing the duet with
him. Here's the Zito sidebar musical
tie-in. Barry is the late in life child,
born to Joe and Roberta, Zito who met while
working for Nat King Cole. Joe was Cole's
music conductor and Roberta, a classically
trained pianist and violinist, was a singer for
Cole's backup group, The Merry Young
Souls.
There was another great moment that

Just a few
weeks ago, in his coverage of the America's Cup,
LaHitz Media' Jacquie Taliaferro made a
prophetic forecast about the Giants
in the
World Series 2012!
Truly
it's sweet San Francisco
Times.
San
Francisco- The America's Cup World Series
could be the second world series in San
Francisco within a year's time in that the
San Francisco Giants might be in Major League
Baseball's World Series.

For
the first time since San Francisco was awarded
host of the 34th America's Cup, racing boats
were on the Bay, as the dog days of August were
fading. Teams from around the globe, France,
Italy, Korea, New Zealand, UK, USA, China and
Sweden were all competing.
There
are super views of the race from our Marina
Green shoreline and specially built
grandstands.

An
event like this takes major sponsorship and
requires partners and collaborators that cut
across numerous private, public and nonprofit
organizations. America's Cup will bring
thousands of spectators from around the world to
San Francisco. This will help improve/repair our
waterfront that is in very bad shape. Some are
projecting that the 34th America's Cup will
create more than 8,000 new jobs and $1 billion
in economic impact spread throughout the
City.
Next
races in San Francisco are October 2-7, 2012
with the finals on the Bay, September 7-22,
2013. Let the boats go and the money flow.
