San Francisco-"Bond, James Bond"-The man's man
and ladies' dream prevails again in his 23rd incarnation. Daniel
Craig in his third time around wears the role well. The worldwide box
office earnings of more than $518 Million are an indication of that
fact. The franchise broke a domestic record bringing in more than $87
million during the opening weekend in domestic sales.
It is
refreshing to see that Halle Berry will not be "the first and only"
woman of color to be held in the arms of Bond. Without going over the
top, British actress Naomie Harris lights up the screen with her demure
sexuality. The sweet sensuality was a delight given the excess often
seen in cinema these days. Harris walked the balance beam between
delicate sensuality and spit fire never blink warrior queen.
But
the real story, the behind the scenes, the "there's more than meets the
eye" is told in "How'd They Do That Ya'll" technical details. The
fantastic explosive scenes and the cinematic high definition visuals of
"007 Skyfall" could not have been achieved without great technology.
Last Friday, during a special pre-release screening,
Brocade Communications
gathered geeks, greeks, and gawkers to be among the first to see "007
Skyfall" with a short preceding video speaking of the company's role in
the development of the film with it's VDX 8770 Switch, that they say
saves time and money. Cameron Lorentz gave Jackie Wright an exclusive
at an early screening in Silicon Valley.
