SF Interfaith Community Mourns Connecticut Tragedy

The San Francisco interfaith community - with one voice - sends its condolences and its prayers to the parents, children and the whole community in Newtown, Connecticut.  We mourn with you and vow to work together to make all our communities safe for our children and indeed for all our citizens.
 
After our prayers this weekend, let us begin the work of healing and of working together to solve the problems that lead to such tragedies.

Breed joined State Senator Scott Wiener to announce legislation to combat fencing, the sale of stolen goods on City streets. Authored by Senator Wiener and sponsored by Mayor Breed, Senate Bill 925 (SB 925) would allow San Francisco to create permitting requirements to regulate the sale of items commonly obtained through retail theft and impose criminal penalties for those who engage in this practice.
