Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration

Your Ticket to a 50 Year Commemoration Celebration!

Dear Friends,

Are you going to the Labor Council MLK  Breakfast?  Instead of an open seating for $50.  Let's join our efforts to get our friends to join us to have a reserved table of 10 for $500.  That's $50.00 each, but we can sit together and catch up and take a few minutes to plan to keep in touch for the New Year.  Let's coordinate!

Email me at jackiewright@wrightnow.biz ( subject line MLK Breakfast)
, if you want to put together some tables of friends.  Let's connect at the breakfast and get ready for the KBLX evening celebration.  And of course there's all that fun in between at the Yerba Buena Center.  Great Day!  Great Fun! Great Commemoration!

JAZZ HERITAGE CENTER CELEBRATES 5TH ANNIVERSARY
WITH TRIBUTE TO LIVING JAZZ LEGEND
JOHN HANDY

"We're excited to note that living music legend John Handy will be celebrating his birthday with a fundraiser for the Jazz Heritage Center as we celebrate our fifth year of programming," Christine Harris, Chairman, Board of Directors."

Handy Handbill designed by Kali O'Ray, Graphic Designer and Co-Director of the
San Francisco Black Flim Festival, (June 13-16, 2013)

San Francisco-The Jazz Heritage Center's Fifth Anniversary Celebration and 80th Birthday Tribute to John Handy will be at 3:00 p.m., February 24 at the San Francisco Yoshi's Jazz Club, with a musical tribute being assembled by Glen Pearson, Jazz pianist extraordinaire and Chair of the Jazz program at Alameda College. A VIP reception at 2:00 p.m. in our adjacent Lush Life Gallery will precede the performance. This is also a unique opportunity to include as part of your Black History Month celebrations.

Fifth Anniversary fundraising event will also launch residual history preserving and history-making opportunities. As part of our new 2013 programming, we will videotape in March a conversation between John Handy and Jazz historian and KCSM JAZZ 91.1 radio personality Sonny Buxton.   The new Jazz Heritage Center Program, "Conversations with Sonny," will capture the voices of musicians, club owners, and fans who were part of the great era of Jazz in San Francisco and who continue to be part of the scene.

It will be a great opportunity to enjoy a musical celebration with friends.  Sponsorships are available.  Make a tax deductible contribution or sponsor the event. Contact Christine@jazzheritagecenter.org. The Jazz Heritage Center is a 501c3 tax-exempt organization, tax ID number 20-8183068, dedicated to Jazz education and preservation of Jazz History.

Be sure to check the www.jazzheritagecenter.org for details as they are unveiled.
No stranger to supporting the arts, John Handy with Jackie Wright, Wright Enterprises, Jacquie Taliaferro, LaHitz Media as Handy was on the scene for the Oakland International Film Festival.
