During Women's History Month and the SF 100 Black Women in San Francisco Weekend, The National Coalition of 100 Black Women San Francisco Chapter will host the 8th Annual Golden Girls Hats and Gloves Tea: "-Bridging the Generations," Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the historic Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. Trade Advisor to the U. S. Department of Commerce, Teresa Cox will be the keynote speaker. The San Francisco Chapter and annual fundraiser, that now funds the "Bridging the Generations Employment and Job Training Program" was founded by President Emeritius, I Lee Murphy Reed. Dr. Maxine Hickman is President and Ria Brandenberg of Vallejo chairs this year's " Bridging the Generations Golden Girls Hats and Gloves Tea."

Breed joined State Senator Scott Wiener to announce legislation to combat fencing, the sale of stolen goods on City streets. Authored by Senator Wiener and sponsored by Mayor Breed, Senate Bill 925 (SB 925) would allow San Francisco to create permitting requirements to regulate the sale of items commonly obtained through retail theft and impose criminal penalties for those who engage in this practice.
