SUNRISE SERVICE IN SAN FRANCISCO

San Francisco's grandest Easter morning tradition gets under way at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2013 at the annual Sunrise Service at Mount Davidson Cross. This year's citywide celebration atop the City's highest peak marks the 91st anniversary of the event.

People climb Mount Davidson before dawn Sunday to congregate for the annual sunrise service alongside the 103-foot-tall cross atop the highest peak in San Francisco.

America's largest cross will be illuminated by spotlights totaling 48,000 watts on the evening of Saturday, March 30, shining as a beacon for Easter morning pilgrims.

This year's Easter Message to the city will be given by Rev. Dr. Joseph Bryant, Jr., Senior Pastor of the Calvary Hill Community Church.
