There are two remaining titles in our 2012-2013 season, and they are both closing in April, so act now, or you'll miss out!

Stuck Elevator, presented by A.C.T., is a world premiere hip hop opera which relates the true story of a Chinese deliveryman who was trapped in a Bronx elevator for 81 hours. Sounding the alarm will open the doors to freedom, but calling for help also means calling for attention--with dire consequences for this undocumented immigrant. Inventively staged by internationally acclaimed artist Chay Yew--and introducing the prodigious work of a brilliant young composing team--Stuck Elevator unleashes an evocative collision of stories, sounds, instruments, and ideas. LHT subscribers may see Stuck Elevator April 4-14

The Whipping Man, presented in Mill Valley by Marin Theatre Company, takes place in the months following the Emancipation Proclamation; two former slaves find themselves caring for their former owner's son, a Confederate captain, seriously wounded in the final battle of the Civil War. When the three Jewish men then share an uneasy, imporvised Seder to mark Passover, they discover that, though they are no longer tied by slavery, they remain tied by faith, history, and explosive secrets. The Whipping Man will feature L. Peter Callender (LHT's 2003 production of King Hedley II) and Tobie Windham (LHT's 2012 production of Blues for an Alabama Sky ). LHT subscribers may see The Whipping Man now through April 21. (Saturday evening performances available for $5 additional fee)

Tickets for both productions can total as much as $156, but a 2-play LHT subscription costs only $85!*
