ArtSeed's Earth Day Art-a-thon
Saturday, April 20th, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Thoreau Center for Sustainability, in the Presidio of San Francisco
 
Join the fun to support creative youngsters during ArtSeed's ten-hour art-making marathon. Come any time and stay as long as you wish. Collect pledges of sponsorship for every hour you create art or music to help ArtSeed serve more children. No matter your age or skill level, join us to work on your own projects or take advantage of expert guidance and supplies. Free parking, live music, nifty food, and participation in Skype connections to satellite Earth Day Art-a-thon events throughout the country. Great raffle gifts and prizes will be awarded from Another Cafe, Artist and Craftsmen Supply, A Child's Delight, Foothill College Bookstore, Harrison House Music and Arts, Ninkasi Brewing Company, Peet's Coffee, Photograph and Frame, SAM's Diner, SenZen, Sports Basement, Walnut Cleaners, The Village Market, and Winery SF.

REGISTER ONLINE with Razoo and join the Art-a-thon 2013 team. Please also download the  Art-a-thon Registration Packet PDF (which includes waiver form, pledge sheet and tips for finding sponsors). If you have trouble signing up please contact Trey at  trey@artseed.org or call his cell at 415-794-3456. **If you are under the age of 18, you must get permission from a parent or guardian before joining the Art-a-thon team. A signed waiver may be scanned and emailed to trey@artseed.org or faxed to 415-751-4442.**

Art-a-thon Volunteer Opportunities! Everyone is welcome to the upcoming artist, volunteer and youth council Art-a-thon meetings and event preparations at Rx Café (formerly Acre Café) near the ArtSeed office, in the Thoreau Center, in the Presidio  Click for Directions

Sunday, April 14: Art-a-thon Meeting with Youth Council and Volunteers, 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. Volunteer orientation and event support.

Friday, April 19: Event Set-Up, 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. Help set up for the Art-a-thon! This includes setting up tables and art stations, organizing supplies, creating signage, decorating the stage-area, and other last-minute preparations. Pizza and refreshments provided!

Saturday, April 20: The Art-a-thon! 8:30 a.m. - 10 p.m. (The time includes 1 ½ hour morning setup and 2 hour break down) Throughout the day we will need help. There are multiple ways for you volunteer for this event.

Sunday, April 21: The Day After, 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. We do a once over at the Thoreau Center to make sure everything is clean (mopping, etc.) and will be in working order when people return to their offices on Monday. It is easy to miss details when it becomes dark the night before.

Breed joined State Senator Scott Wiener to announce legislation to combat fencing, the sale of stolen goods on City streets. Authored by Senator Wiener and sponsored by Mayor Breed, Senate Bill 925 (SB 925) would allow San Francisco to create permitting requirements to regulate the sale of items commonly obtained through retail theft and impose criminal penalties for those who engage in this practice.
