For Immediate Release

Concord, CA: Sunday October 13, 2013 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. First Christian Church will host a Human Trafficking Awareness event. Agencies and leaders will be on site to share information about what they do, what trafficking is and how we can improve the safety for our children and community.

Did you know, worldwide there are an estimated 27 million people enslaved today? This is more than at any other time in history. Therefore, “as the fastest growing crime today there really is no more important event to host” says Diane Maltester of Martinez and First Christian Church’s Outreach Coordinator.

Join us to gain access to resources, information and tools. It is important our communities’ are tooled and “we are happy to provide this event for FREE to any who can join us” says, Maltester. People today are simply not aware this crime is happening in our own backyards.

During this day’s event we will air Call & Response, a feature length documentary on modern slavery and what Paste magazine says is the most important movie to watch today.

Sunday 10-13-13
First Christian Church (FCC)
3039 Willow Pass Road, Concord, CA
1:00 p.m. – 5 p.m.

We invite the press, and all members of the community to join us.
