SAN FRANCISCO NAACP 2013 FREEDOM FUND GALA

Celebrating 91 Years in the San Francisco Bay Area

"We Shall Not Be Moved until Justice Rolls Down Like A Mighty Stream!"

The San Francisco Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (SF NAACP) is hosting its "Annual Freedom Fund Dinner and Gala" on Saturday, November 9, 2013, Hilton Hotel Union Square, 333 O'Farrell Street, San Francisco, CA,  Reception 6:00 PM, Dinner 7:00 PM

This year the SF NAACP Branch took the lead with local stakeholders to analyze the root causes of violence in our communities and is working on a plan to remedy this crisis.  The Branch has also made major strides in addressing the achievement gap in the San Francisco Unified School District with our Students of Promise Program.  The Branch is responsible for bringing the SFPD Parole Profiling traffic stop to the City Government attention and was effective in preventing the Stop and Frisk Law from being enacted in San Francisco.  The San Francisco Branch has the utmost concern regarding the exit of African American businesses from San Francisco because of the socio-economic climate in this City.  To that end, we are working with other stakeholders to ensure economic sustainability for residents of San Francisco.

Tavis Smiley, will be the Keynote Speaker.

The SFNAACP will honor individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the fight for freedom and justice for all.
