Inner City Youth in association with UAGM Publishing presents an evening with community activist/director Robert "Fleetwood" Bowden for an exclusive film screening of his latest documentary: "I JUST WANNA BALL"

 

The screenings will take place February 15, 2014 from 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm and onFebruary 16, 2014 from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm at the La Pena Cultural Center 3105 Shattuck Avenue Berkeley, CA. 

 

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film s director Robert "Fleetwood" Bowden, the executive producer and founder of Inner City Youth, Mike Mike Brown and special invited guests.

 

As someone who had to fight his way out of a life on the streets, "Fleetwood" recognizes the heart it takes to defy the odds and when he met the 4 young women of the McClymonds High School basketball team, he knew their story had to be told. The story of the ladies from the McClymonds High School Lady warriors championship team of 2013, is a compelling journey into the lives of young women who had no reason to believe life had anything to offer them until they discovered basketball...

Authored by Senator Wiener and sponsored by Mayor Breed, Senate Bill 925 (SB 925) would allow San Francisco to create permitting requirements to regulate the sale of items commonly obtained through retail theft and impose criminal penalties for those who engage in this practice.
