Carnaval This Weekend in San Francisco

CARNAVAL SAN FRANCISCO PROUDLY ANNOUNCE OUR 2014 QUEEN VALENCIA NEWTON AND KING DELVIS SAVIGNE FRIÑON!

Twenty contestants vied for the Carnaval San Francisco King and Queen crown in this year’s competition on April 26th and performed to a sold-out house at Brava Theater Center in San Francisco. The winners were Valencia Newton, this year’s Carnaval Queen, and Delvis Friñon, our King, who will serve as the official ambassadors of Carnaval San Francisco 2014, and lead the Grand Parade on May 25th.

THE COUNTDOWN TO THE FESTIVAL & PARADE BEGINS

Carnaval San Francisco kicks–off Memorial Day weekend at the SF Giants on May 23rd, and continues with our FREE 2–day family festival in the Mission District on May 24th & May 25th on Harrison Street between 16th and 24th Streets. Experience global cuisine, international music, dance, arts & crafts, and other fun activities and entertainment on every street corner for the entire family to enjoy.

Breed joined State Senator Scott Wiener to announce legislation to combat fencing, the sale of stolen goods on City streets. Authored by Senator Wiener and sponsored by Mayor Breed, Senate Bill 925 (SB 925) would allow San Francisco to create permitting requirements to regulate the sale of items commonly obtained through retail theft and impose criminal penalties for those who engage in this practice.
