PRLog (Press Release) - May 14, 2014 - OAKLAND, Calif. -- 4th Annual California Music Industry Summit, June 13-15 in Oakland Empowers, Educates and Entertains

When it comes to music, practice makes perfect and information empowers!  And the perfect forum for empowerment is the 4th Annual California Music Industry Summit (CMIS), Juneteenth and Father’s Day Weekend, June 13-15 at the Kaiser Center Tower, 300 Lakeside Drive in Oakland. The theme this year is “Empowering Artists and Entertainment Professionals.” From emerging artists to seasoned professionals, the California Music Industry Summit has something for everyone interested in music and the music industry.

The CMIS, during Juneteenth and Father’s Day weekend, includes a scholarship and awards gala, over thirty performers in the CMIS artist showcase, panels and workshops led by top industry professionals.  Attendees have the opportunity to meet and learn from music producers, music supervisors, managers, agents, promoters, talent buyers, publicists, publishers, studio engineers, radio station executives, attorneys, songwriters, recording artists, CD manufacturers, distributors, radio, record label representatives, and other industry professionals.

“I’d like to commend Tracy L. Reed founder of CMIS for her extraordinary vision,” said Larry Batiste, Grammy nominated recording artist and Musical Director for the annual Grammy’s pre-show. “There’s a giant chasm between being extremely talented and having a successful music career.  Tracy’s CMIS helps close the gap and gives people the tools they need to create a clearer path to a successful music career.  There are more career paths than singing and rapping in the industry.  Knowing the need and seeing her great effort, I had to volunteer once again,” added Batiste.
