EVENT: Forgotten: The Untold Story of D-Day’s Black Heroes, At Home and At War - 2/27/16

Please join Maison de la Culture Noire Américaine and The Alliance Française de San Francisco Saturday, February 27, 4:30-7:00pmas we welcome author, Linda Hervieux, on the occasion of her US West Coast book tour of her acclaimed book "Forgotten: The Untold Story of D-Day's Black Heroes, At Home and At War". 

Mme. Hervieux will discuss her book with Black Paris scholar, Julia Browne. 

Come out to support non-profits dedicated to promoted African American-centered scholarship, culture, and history!

PROGRAM:

4:30 pm - 5:30 pm: Enjoy wine and live jazz reception before Linda's talk. Sponsored by Esterlina Winery. Music by Michael James and Friends.

5:35 pm: Welcome remarks by executive director Pascal Ledermann, followed by an introduction by Julia Browne, Founder of Walking the Spirit Tours.

5:50 pm: Linda Hervieux discusses the men and issues of FORGOTTEN, followed by a Q&A and a book signing. 

Copies of FORGOTTEN will be on sale.

Breed joined State Senator Scott Wiener to announce legislation to combat fencing, the sale of stolen goods on City streets. Authored by Senator Wiener and sponsored by Mayor Breed, Senate Bill 925 (SB 925) would allow San Francisco to create permitting requirements to regulate the sale of items commonly obtained through retail theft and impose criminal penalties for those who engage in this practice.
