In the wake of Lorraine Hansberry Theatre's "Thurgood" and talkbacks by Bay Area Civil Rights icons attorneys Eva Paterson and Pamela Price calling for the audiences this past weekend to support efforts to strengthen the Voting Rights Act and San Francisco NAACP equating San Francisco to Ferguson, the national office of the NAACP has launched a campaign today, Monday, April 18, 2016 asking citizens to write their elected officials to right the wrongs done to the Voting Rights Act.
The Talkbacks with Eva Paterson & Pamela Price were Priceless:
Steven Anthony Jones receives congratulations from John Marshall, youngest son of Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall for his portrayal of Marshall's father on Preview Night, April 7, 2016. |

Today's a big day of action, Friend.
We're tired of big money's influence on our elections. We're appalled by thinly veiled attempts to keep certain Americans from the polls — under the guise of voter fraud prevention. The Voting Rights Act (VRA) has been gutted, and it's time to restore the protections we were promised in 1965.
Will you send a letter to your members of Congress demanding the full restoration of our democracy? It only takes one minute:
We're confronting Congress head-on right now in Washington, D.C. But we need you to help keep up the pressure by sending a letter to your representatives, telling them you won't tolerate any actions that limit the democratic process.
If you're with us, tell your representatives right now that you won't tolerate the degradation of our democracy. Let them know it's time for a Democracy Awakening:
