Three years later, Now Mayoral Candidate Breed can attest to Walker's pronouncement as "America's Still the Place" for opportunity as she may make history as the first Black female Mayor of San Francisco. See You at this year's film festival London? With all the ballots to count, we will still probably not know if history will be made by June 14th. "Keep the Faith, London!"

San Francisco Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Doris Ward was remembered at the Delancey Street Foundation Theater Saturday, May 19, 2018. The first Black San Francisco Board of Supervisors President, who passed away in April, was a strong advocate for racial and economic justice. In January, The SF National Coalition of 100 Black Women's
workforce development employment and training Program was renamed in honor of Ward. Previously named "Building the Generations Workforce Development Employment and Training Program, It was created by member Jackie Wright in 2011. The first project under Ward's name will be the "Brand Ambassador" project with the San Francisco Black Film Festival, June 14-17.

Breed joined State Senator Scott Wiener to announce legislation to combat fencing, the sale of stolen goods on City streets. Authored by Senator Wiener and sponsored by Mayor Breed, Senate Bill 925 (SB 925) would allow San Francisco to create permitting requirements to regulate the sale of items commonly obtained through retail theft and impose criminal penalties for those who engage in this practice.
