Thousands gathered in San Francisco for the inauguration of London Breed, the City's First Black Female Mayor. With video greetings from San Francisco's First Female Mayor, Senator Dianne Feinstein, Senator Kamala Harris, Congresswoman Barbara Lee and Congresswoman Jackie Speier, the festivities were blessed by Rabbi Beth Singer of Temple Emanu-El and Dr. Amos Brown of Third Baptist Church as they declared Mayor London Breed the 45th Mayor of San Francisco is an answer to prayer and that her leadership of San Francisco will be a demonstration to the nation and the 45th President on how to act. Both Congregation Emanu-El and Third Baptist Church were established during the Gold Rush Days of California within two years of each other, noted Brown. Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom showed much delight as he Swore in the Mayor and she then spoke passionately to the people gathered about the need for compassion while tough decisions will need to be made to move the City forward.
