 Mayor London Breed Vows to Move Quickly on
Conservatorship Law Signed Today by Gov. Brown

strengthened conservatorship laws in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego counties in order to better treat individuals suffering from severe mental illness and addiction issues.
 
Following the signing, Mayor London N. Breed announced plans to move forward implementing the legislation in San Francisco.
 
"The status quo is unacceptable-it is not humane to allow San Franciscans struggling with severe mental illness and addiction to continue to suffer on our streets," said Mayor Breed. "I have been a longtime supporter of strengthening our conservatorship laws and I look forward to moving quickly to implement this legislation at the local level so we can start providing care to those in need. I want to thank Senator Wiener for his steadfast leadership on this issue and Governor Brown for signing this important bill into law."

To Offer Catering Only Due To Landlord Construction & Renovations
Landmark Restaurant Faz Oakland "Will Be Missed!"
OaklandHaving hosted six years of weddings, anniversaries, business events, birthdays, graduations, bat mitzvahs, bar mitzvahs, quinceañeras, family reunions and other celebrations at Faz Oakland, the Bay Area restaurant company regrets to announce as of Friday, September 28th, it will be closing due to landlord Broadway Franklin, LLC's renovations.  
Faz Oakland grew into a landmark at 1111 Broadway," said Mayor Libby Schaaf.  "For years, area businesses and residents appreciated the fine dining experience, unique ambiance, and accessibility of the restaurant, while local organizations benefited greatly from the philanthropic investments Chef Faz made in our nonprofit community."

The doors to Faz Oakland will close but catering services will continue.  Last Happy Hour for FAZ Oakland is tonight, September 27th.  The last meal service will be lunch,  served Friday, September 28th, 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Authored by Senator Wiener and sponsored by Mayor Breed, Senate Bill 925 (SB 925) would allow San Francisco to create permitting requirements to regulate the sale of items commonly obtained through retail theft and impose criminal penalties for those who engage in this practice.
