Award-winning director, writer, and producer, Sandra A Smith, originally from Louisiana, began her film and TV career in 2009 while attending Laney College and Berkeley digital Film Institute while working at Peralta TV.
Smith received her degree in Media Communications in Performance and Production from Laney College in Oakland, California. Immediately, Smith, with the help of director Taylor Wansley went onto write, direct and produce "The Sealed Letter," which won Best Short Drama in the New York International Film Festival. "The Sealed Letter" won Best Short Film by Cast Down Imagination TV in 2015.
In 2011, Smith won an award of Distinction for directing the music video "Fuss & Fight" in the 6th Annual Student Film and Video Festival. While attending Berkeley Digital Film Institute, Smith also directed a documentary for the President of Laney College. Smith has continued to write, act, direct, produce, and promote her own film projects, as well as assist others in Entertainment. In 2014, Sandra Smith Films was awarded The Communications Film Director, Oakland New Journal and Review 2014.
Smith's work has also been screened in the Oakland International Film Festival, The Los Angeles Film Festival, San Francisco Black Film Festival, Oakland, The Underground/Art & Soul Film Festival and Laney College Film Festival.
Sandra A. Smith is a great Inspiration, who has empowered women to come together and build dreams in and out of her community in entertainment. While building a sisterhood environment, she has graced the stage as Host at The Noolywood Film Fest 2019 in Los Angeles, as well as a 2019 Christmas Party that was a success. Smith is the recipient of the 2019 Good Samaritan Legends Role Model Award.

Smith believes in placing principles of devotion and spiritual lessons in her works. Smith's artistic endeavors first began in the role of a singer from the young age of 5, singing in church and in school choirs as well as local talent shows. After graduating high school in 1988, Sandra moved to the Bay Area and began working diligently on her career. During Sandra's time at Laney College she turned an internship into an award winning short dramatic film, "The Sealed Letter". After several re-writes and countless brainstorming sessions, Sandra was able to write and produce a well-received project. Today Smith is currently touring her three part short film "Three men & a Laptop I & II" with part three coming in the near future, with the aspiration to turn this short film into a feature.
Tiger Eye Entertainment, Smith's Production Company has become a valuable resource in Sacramento and the Bay Area servicing other filmmakers, entertainers and business owners, as they create and produce their projects. Smith is a true veteran in the business and continues to rise with amazing success.
