JUDGE KETANJI BROWN JACKSON'S CONFIRMATION AS SUPREME COURT JUSTICE

BY ANH LÊ

I and other Americans celebrate with much joy Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson's confirmation as Supreme Court Justice.  What a great and historic achievement for our nation!

Judge Jackson not only is a brilliant and exceptionally well qualified judge, she reflects the gender and racial and ethnic makeup of our country.

Judge Jackson was able to navigate through and surmount the hostile questions from Republican members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, oftentimes reminding us of the stain of racism.

Republican Senators George Romney, Susan Collins, and Lisa Murkowski, are commended for their independence in voting for Judge Jackson.

Judge Jackson's ascendancy to the Supreme Court reminds us of the great Justice Thurgood Marshall.

Supreme Court Justice Jackson will represent all of us in this vast and diverse nation, and her work will impact and benefit not just us, but also our children and grandchildren and generations to come.
