Dr. Joseph Bryant Jr. of Calvary Hill Community Church hosts Darrin Henson, author of "Intimate Thoughts" at the 12 noon, January 27, 2013 worship service. Henson,choreographs videos and concerts for artists such as N'Sync and Usher. Straight out of high school, he landed a job in a break-dancing troupe for Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Grew up just 2 doors down from Jennifer Lopez in the Bronx, and remains good friends with her to this day. Also works as a choreographer in the music industry, and has worked with such singers as 'NSync, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera. Belva Davis has been a fixture in Bay Area journalism for more than five decades. Since becoming the first black female television journalist in the West in 1964, she has covered events of local, national, and international scope; interviewed US Presidents and other world leaders; and, for the past 19 years, served as the host of KQED's must-watch public affairs program "This Week in Northern California." Belva announced her retirement from broadcasting last year, and signed off the air on November 9. Join newsmakers, colleagues and friends in celebrating Belva's historic career with a reception and a program of interviews, tributes, and surprises presided over by former San Francisco mayor Willie Brown.

The Asian Heritage Street Celebration (AHSC) is hosting its annual poster contest in partnership with the Asian American Women Artists Association, Asian Art Museum, Center for Asian American Media, and Kearny Street Workshop. Graphic artists are sought to create an exciting image to become part of the personality for the 9th Annual Asian Heritage Street Celebration to be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 in front of the Asian Art Museum, leading up to the Little Saigon District in San Francisco.
