Sixteen civil rights heroes will be honored on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Fred Korematsu Day Heroes Celebration. Sponsored by the Korematsu Institute, the event will take place before an audience of up to 900 people at San Francisco's Herbst Theatre. The historic gathering will bring together the following Asian American and Pacific Islander honorees for the first time in history

THE CITY THAT CAN!" Well Folks, I want to thank all of you who took action to contact Wells Fargo Bank on behalf of one our frail elderly neighbors. Got word that that foreclosure sale will not take place today. With your prayers and action it will not take place on February 26, 2013. Please continue to advocate for a humanitarian solution to foreclosures. Please ask Wells Fargo Bank to make a "fair deal modification" for the Reed Family and others.

Here's an excerpt from a longer commentary that speaks of the conflict between an African immigrant and leader of a drum corps, and foreclosure fighters defending 90 Year Old Tuskegee Airman, Ben Reed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. While foreclosure fighters tried to hold a news conference and had asked in advance for the drummers to stop playing for a few minutes ( News Conference was 10 minutes), the drummers continued to play their drums while the foreclosure fighters pled with Wells Fargo Bank via media for a humanitarian solution to foreclosure of the Reed home.
