Reverend Dr. Frederick Haynes Jr., son of the namesake of Frederick Douglass Haynes Gardens, will speak at a rally hosted by the church to save 104 homes in danger of being sold and redeveloped into luxury apartments beginning at $3,000 for a one bedroom.

Brown, former San Francisco City Attorney, Dr. Amos Brown of the NAACP and others gathered at Superior Court to stop the sale of the Frederick Douglass Haynes Gardens complex, an affordable housing centrally located blocks from City Hall.
