The Jazz Heritage Center in the Fillmore that never received the funding it deserved although it was the impetus supposedly for the Yoshi/Fillmore Complex is in danger of going the way of most of the Blacks after "Redevelopment" redeveloped Blacks out of the Fillmore, "anywhere but here!" Come on San Francisco-We can do better than this. Stop making false promises to Blacks to garner a deal and then shoot them to the curb when your purposes are complete. Stop making the money off of Black people and then running! Jazz Heritage Center Board Chairman, Christine Harris, did not speak in those terms, but as I read her letter, I see the same pattern of handing out pennies to Blacks to start an initiative and abandoning it because "it's not producing" without taking into consideration it was underfunded in the first place. Why does San Francisco continually demand Blacks "make bricks without straw." Take Action Attend the Hearing, 1p.m. Tuesday, in Room 416

More than 100 other organizations have joined an all-volunteer program at Covered California called the Community Outreach Network to raise public awareness about the new health insurance marketplace. The National Council of Jewish Women are one of the hundred. “Our partners in the Community Outreach Network are important advocates in our continuing outreach and education efforts to consumers,” said Covered California Deputy Director of Community Relations Sarah Soto-Taylor. “This work is voluntary and uncompensated, yet these partners have been enthusiastic participants in spreading the word. They are true believers in our mission of providing health care to the uninsured. Moreover, they are inspiring.”
