Collaborating with 1st Saturday's a volunteer initiative, Made in Oakland and its sponsors, The Oakland International Film Festival brings food for thought with 65 films from around the world. April 4th is the 50th Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. On Good Friday, James A. Forbes, Pastor Emeritus of the historic Riverside Church in New York City, where Dr. King spoke out against the Vietnam War, April 4, 1967, a year to the date before he was assassinated on April 4, 1968, will be the keynote speaker announcing a national movement.

The Oakland International Film Festival recognizes the 50th Anniversary of the Assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and hosts sixty-five films from around the world from April 3-7 including "Made In Oakland" as the festival affirms Oakland as a destination city.
