Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebrations to include news conferences and a prayer service indicative of the heart of Dr. King whose social justice message included economic empowerment. A news conference will be held marking the call to the Department of Justice to investigate the officers involved shooting of Mario Woods on December 2, 2015. A news conference will be held concerning the unjust eviction of San Francisco Sheriff Chaplain Yul Dorn. Community Assembly of God is calling on community support to stop the eminent domain takeover of the church.

In the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., ACCE and others continue their support for Reverend Yul Dorn, a San Francisco Sheriff's Chaplain and Pastor of Emmanuel Church of God in Christ. Dorn, a longtime Bayview resident was evicted from his home on Thursday after Chase Bank's paperwork error allowed speculator Quan He to purchase the Dorn Family's home of 20 years. Considering the purchase and eviction a social and economic injustice, organizers are holding a news conference today, to ask for public support of the family. The family has presented He and his lawyers at Michael Hall Law Firm a proposal to repurchase the Dorn home. He's lawyers have avoided negotiations in order to hold out for more money from prospective buyers.

Brown Jr. Mayor Brown has made his annual donation of designer clothing to Goodwill for this year's Donate-A-Thon. His call to action at last year's Donate-A-Thon has resulted in $35,000 in new clothing.
